Finding motivation to get outside and exercise can be difficult, especially during the cooler months. Whether you’re new to exercise, or you’re just trying to get back out there, these tips are sure to get you motivated to get back in the gym!

Exercise with a friend

Exercising can be daunting, but having a friend tag along with you can make all the difference. Circuit workouts are great if your friends are joining you, counting on your friends to get through the circuit will keep energy high and you’ll always have someone to cheer you along.

Set small goals

Whether you’re just trying to get yourself into a work out routine for the first time, or if you’re just struggling for motivation, there’s nothing more damaging than high expectations! Setting yourself small and achievable goals will leave you feeling accomplished and motivated. Start with trying to walk to the train station faster than the day before, or aim to loose two centimetres from your waist. Achieving small goals will drive you to achieve the next!

Find something you love

We get it, nobody loves cardio! The key to enjoying exercise is finding an exercise you love. Try substituting an afternoon jog for skipping, or swimming. If you prefer team sports, then try and join your local team. If you’re doing an activity that you enjoy, we promise – it won’t even feel like exercise!

Reward yourself

Living a healthy lifestyle is all about balance, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself! Whether you’d like to treat yourself to a slice of chocolate cake, or some new workout clothes, it’s important to remember to reward your little victories. Just remember, all in moderation!
